Set in the wooded hills of Quechee, Vermont, this distinctive Deck House renovation blends mid-century architectural character with modern custom cabinetry and millwork. Hitchcock Woodworking was tasked with building cabinetry throughout the kitchen, living areas, recreation room, bathroom, and laundry space, each crafted to complement the home’s signature post-and-beam structure and warm wood ceilings.

The kitchen anchors the home with clean, modern lines and a functional island designed for gathering and everyday living. Flat-panel cabinetry, integrated storage, and carefully selected finishes create a streamlined aesthetic while allowing the architecture and surrounding landscape to remain the focal point. Bright natural light and expansive windows reinforce the open, airy feeling typical of classic Deck House design.

Custom built-ins continue throughout the home, including shelving and cabinetry in the living and recreation spaces that balance modern simplicity with warmth and texture. Thoughtful use of color and natural wood adds personality while maintaining a cohesive design language across each room.

The result is a vibrant, modern interior that respects the home’s mid-century roots while bringing new life and functionality to this iconic Vermont Deck House.
