Quechee Mountain Kitchen

Location: Quechee Lakes, VT

Scope: Custom Kitchen Cabinetry

Style: Transitional

Construction: Inset Cabinetry

Finish: Clear Quartersawn White Oak

This kitchen was designed as the centerpiece of a mountain retreat, anchored by quartersawn white oak cabinetry that brings warmth, texture, and durability to a large, open living space. Panel-ready appliances and integrated storage allow the cabinetry to read as a continuous architectural element, while a concealed door to the walk-in pantry maintains clean sightlines and visual calm throughout the room.

An expansive 8-by-10-foot island serves as the functional and social heart of the kitchen, paired with stone countertops and farmhouse sinks that balance refinement with everyday practicality. Two built-in bars positioned off the main workspace support entertaining without interrupting the primary cooking zone, making the kitchen equally suited for large gatherings and daily use.

High ceilings, exposed ceiling beams, and wide expanses of windows and doors connect the kitchen to the surrounding mountain setting, filling the space with natural light and views. The result is a kitchen that feels both substantial and inviting—designed to handle the demands of a busy ski retreat while maintaining a sense of craftsmanship, restraint, and long-term comfort.
